Here at LittleLizzyLou, we support all kinds of causes, and we’re always glad to do what we can to help spread awareness.

Right now, I want to talk about Epilepsy. From the Epilepsy Foundation website, we learn that Epilepsy “is an underlying condition (or permanent brain injury) that affects the delicate systems which govern how electrical energy behaves in the brain, making it susceptible to recurring seizures.” It’s also the third most common neurological disorder in the United States!

The thing about Epilepsy is that a lot of people don’t know much about it, or they don’t feel comfortable talking about it. There’s not a quick & easy way to find the right treatment, and it’s all about getting as much information as you can, so that you can make the right decisions.

Greg Grunberg, from Heroes, BandFromTV, Alias, Felicity, and the pilot from LOST, is a big deal in the Epilepsy world as well. His son, Jake, has Epilepsy, and their entire family works to raise Epilepsy Awareness everywhere. Greg Grunberg is the National Walk for Epilepsy Chairperson, and Jake has his very own team – Jake’s Crazy Brainwaves – for the March 28, 2009 Walk in Washington, DC.

LittleLizzyLou wanted to do what we can to help the Grunberg family raise awareness for Epilepsy, and help them with their fundraising for the walk.
